I’m so excited to finally reveal our baby girls nursery! I feel like this project has been long, but also very fun. I initially wasn’t sure how I wanted to design it so it took a little longer than expected, but I’m so happy with how it all turned out. We first started out with Board & Batten accent walls. My husband and I did a quarantine DIY remodel last year in our guest bathroom and we’ve just gotten the hang of doing Board & Batten walls.

What I Wanted In This Space

The room itself is actually on the smaller size so I wanted to be able to utilize the room well. I also wanted an area that was functional for both baby and LJ to be in since I know he’s going to want to hang out and play while I feed and change the baby. We opted for a smaller dresser and changing table to utilize the space more and hired a carpenter to create a corner bench with storage under the window. A great space to hang out, but also store toys and such in the future. We also did some minor adjustments in the small walk in closet. We added extra clothing racks and shelves. We also kept a dresser in there that I had previously. If you have a girl, I highly recommend the IKEA Sunnersta Rails and extra hooks to organize her bows and headbands!

Theme

I wanted a cross between a European vibe and Boho vibe. I didn’t want it too neutral so we added a mauve pink tone to the walls. I NEVER like color or pink so it was an adjustment for me. I know I wanted to do a fun accent wall with decals since wallpaper is too hard for us to do. It took maybe 5 samples of different decals and getting a custom color to finally make a decision. Did I mention that I’m very indecisive?! The strawberry theme became the perfect touch!
